No Fishing today

Thought we would have gotten a trip together for today but everything fell through. That's the way it goes sometimes so I have been cutting grass this morning instead. It needed to be done and at least it was nice and cool with this north east breeze we have today. We have some open days this coming week so come on down and see us. Sounds like we have lots of dolphins on the way up the beach and some marlins mixed in with them as well. The picture of the boat was taken by a lady from Edenton , NC here on vacation this year. I got it through a friend of a friend on Facebook if you can imagine that. Have a great weekend.

Wayne Whitley and crew

Wayne Whitley and some of his buddies had us booked today. The fishing was still a little slow today but we managed to scrap out a decent catch for the day. We started the day off by pulling a sailfish off not on just one bait but two after having him pulling string for quite awhile. I just can't seem to have any luck with those thing the last few days. That will change sooner or later. We caught a dolphin then had 5 or 6 swim in there with him. We caught 4 then caught the nice gaffer that we had. Later I found a large clump of grass with some trash in it that was holding some bait and a small school of dolphin. We managed to catch 14 around that. From there we caught a few Blackfin tunas around the rocks. The guys wanted something to pull on so we got out the jigging rods found the mark and went to it. We caught our limit of those and fed the sharks with a couple others. One would have gone better than 50 lbs if the toothy critter hadn't gotten hold of him. The wind went to blowing 25 shortly there after so we trolled for home hoping for some more dolphin bites but had none. All in all it was a good day. Thanks Guys.

July 29th Frank Deasey and crowd

Frank, Daniel, Henry and Anita fished with us again today. That's just Tommy on the end,he thinks he needs to be in every picture for some reason. They had enough dolphin from the other day so we decided to try and catch a wahoo or a sailfish. We suceeded with the wahoo part but didn't come through on the sail. We had a sail on for probably 15 jumps or so before he unfortunately came off. We hooked a Blue Marlin after the sail and had him peeling line then he came off as well, just no dang luck with the bills today. We did catch a nice dolphin this afternoon and found a float 4 miles from the beach with a school of dolphin around it,go figure. We managed to catch a few of those. Both Tommy and I enjoyed fishing with you guys , hope to see you again soon.

July 28th

We had Fred and Karen Shike, their kids and two friends along for the ride today. Fishing was slower than it has been for us today. We found a few schools of dolphin this morning but they didn't want to eat for us. We ended up catching about 30 for the day which is still good just not as good as I would have liked. I was out of position to go and try any jigging today so that was out of the question for the afternoon. We went in along the beach for an hour and caught a few Spanish Mackerals before going on home. Ashley caught herself a nice Lizard Fish this afternoon and Karen caught a nice dolphin while we were offshore in the morning. Don't give up on us it gets a lot better. Check back in tomorrow .

Nice cool July day

It was actually nice and cool today which was a big change up from the last couple of weeks. These last two days have given us some much needed relief.Especially me and my old body, I can't go and hide in the Air conditioning like my charters can. Frank Deasey brang along his sister, son business partner Henry and his son for a day of fishing today. It was a struggle for us today but we managed to catch our limit of dolphin when it was all said and done. They are fishing with us again on Thursday so we may go chase some different species. Who knows? Looks like another beautiful day tomorrow and for the rest of the week as well. Come on down and lets go fishing.

Paul and Friends

Paul (sweetheart) Murphy, don't ask, had us booked for the day. We had two New York Fire fighters a NYPD officer and another friend of theirs on board. We started out the day catching a wahoo on the third line in the water and missing another trying to set that bait back out. We found a couple of floats that held a few dolphins as well as a couple of schools just out in the open. I took these guys to a wreck and let them catch some Amber jack's and they had a complete blast with those things. They kept us entertained with their singing this afternoon. Where they came up with some of the songs I'll never know but I had a smile on my face for most of the day. It's good to see people just come to have a good time. Come back and see us Paul and bring the rest of the crowd with you.

The Lucky Log

Fishing was kind of tough for everyone today. There were a few wahoo's caught to the south, a few sails seen to the east, some dolphins in the deep that had lockjaw for the guys that were there. We had caught 9 dolphin for our day which I was happy with for the way fishing was going when we came across this log trolling inshore this afternoon just before time to go home. Luckily for us it was loaded with hungry nice bailer's and a few gaffers. We called another boat the Big Eye my dock partner to join us and when we left he invited another boat in who had also had a tough day. We caught a limit and the other guys caught close to theirs. It was a very lucky log for three of us today. Another beautiful day on the water off Hatteras.

Groundhog Day

Anyone see that movie with Bill Murray? That's what it's beginning to feel like around here this week. 25 out of the SW for yet another day. Hopefully the weather will straighten out by Thursday and we can get a couple of days in this week. This has been an unusual stretch for us here in July which is usually one of the prettiest months of the summer. Hopefully that means that we will have a nice August.

Wind Wind Wind

It has been windy for the past three days now. Looks like we might get some relief on Wednesday from it. Thursday and Friday look beautiful if you're looking to go fishing. We are available those days as well as Sat. if you are interested. Hope to hear from some of you.

Gaffers, Wahoo and a sail

We had Brian and Joe and 4 kids today. All of the kids caught a big fish today which was great. We caught 4 or 5 nice gaffers, a wahoo, 17 bailers and a sailfish today. We missed another sail and pulled off another after a short fight. The kids caught all the big dolphins and Joe caught his first sail while Brian caught the wahoo. All in all it was a good day.

Replay of yesterday

This morning was a replay of yesterday with more wind, rain, thunder and lightning. It is supposed to get on out of here this afternoon and clear on up some for tomorrow. I have my group from yesterday in the morning so I sure hope the weather will straighten out for us. I have open days next week so come on down and do some fishing with us.

Thunder and Lightning July 13th

Thunder Lightning and wind kept us at home this morning. Most of us stayed home while 3 or 4 boats left later in the morning. They had some decent dolphin fishing and there were a few sails caught as well today. We'll give it another try in the morning maybe the weather will be a little better for us.

Sails and dolphins

We had David Cush his two bothers, two brothers in law and a nephew on board today. They we from Cal., Col., La. and Va. Talk about being from all over. We had to work hard for the dolphin this morning but ended up catching 45 or so which they said was a plenty for them. There had been some good sail fishing down the beach from where we were so down the beach we went. I got to the area after 2:00 where the sails had been and we caught one out of a double and a single. Nice way to end the day. Going again in the morning, hope the dolphins and sails are biting again. The sail picture is of Davids sail. I wasn't able to get one of young Clifton's but he's the one with the nicer dolphin. Great people.

Grand Slam Day 2 July 10th

Well we made it 7 miles offshore this morning , turned around and came home. They were calling for some 25 knot winds in the afternoon that showed up a little early. My crowd said they wanted no part of it and to take them home. We all went and had a nice breakfast and then I proceeded to find my couch and hold it down for a couple of hours. No trip tomorrow we fish again on Monday. Enjoy your Sunday.

Hatteras Grand Slam Tournament day 1

We are fishing the Grand Slam today and tomorrow. We saw two Blue Marlins today one which we got a few jumps out of before he came off. There were several fish caught in the tournament today, mostly sails and a couple of whites. The wind came around about 30 out of the North West for the ride home. What a butt kickin that was. Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Beautiful day and good fishing

We had a crowd from Pennsylavania on board today and had a wonderful time. The two young boys Luke and Eric had a blast catching the dolphins today. Luke, who we will call young Skywalker for today because the force was with him, caught a sailfish and the nice gaffer that we caught today. He had the touch. I always enjoy seeing kids have fun while fishing with us. More good fishing to come folks so come on down and see us or give us a call.

Another Beautiful day on the water

Another Beautiful day on the water along with some good fishing as well. We caught our limit of dolphin this morning up the beach a little farther than we have been. After that we trolled down the beach in search of the elusive sailfish. We hooked a couple and pulled them both off then saw one more. There were several caught through out the fleet. Maybe tomorrow will be our day.

July 5th Great fishing once again

We had Todd Hall and friends from Maryland today. The dolphin were a little harder to find today but after the last few days that doesn't say a whole lot. We finished up with the dolphin and spent some time looking for a sailfish. With no luck on that end I stopped around a wreck and did a little jigging and let Ashley catch her first Amberjack, it was a nice one at that. Looking forward to tomorrow , some old friends have me booked and it looks like some beautiful weather.

July 4th Fishing, Kids Play Day

I took my kids and a couple of their friends today. My brother in law Brian went along as well as a friend of mine Dan Johnson and his son who is in my daughters class. We set out to catch dolphins today and that is what we did. It was awesome fishing for another day and beautiful weather. We caught our limit early then went and let them pull on some amberjacks before coming home. What a fun day it was.

Unreal Dolphin Fishing

I hate to say it was as good as it gets but that is pretty much the way it was today. We had our limit by about 7:30 this morning. We stopped on a change and it was automatic. Russ Ayers from Williamston NC and some of his family were aboard today. The kids had a ball with the dolphin. Come on down and see us . Fishing is great.
